McGregor Poetry Festival 2015

It is hard to believe, but the Third Poetry Festival is now being planned for the weekend of the 27th to 30th of August.

As with the first festival, 2014 was a great success. Poets from around the country, as well as overseas guests from America and Holland, spent a hugely satisfying weekend in our pretty village in the heart of the Breede River Valley.

The 2015 edition of the Festival will, without doubt, be a special event once again. We anticipate around 50 poets attending the festival, ranging from established icons of South African poetry, to strong new voices.

Get the chance to meet and engage with the poets, as they wander through our wonderful restaurants, art galleries and delightful venues. Once again the Festival’s core will be the beautiful Temenos Retreat, with a number of other special venues dotted around the village.

Be a part of something special as poets share their work in readings, discussions and workshops. Other events include impromptu readings, musical performances, open mic sessions and movies.

An event not to be missed for any lover of the written and spoken word!
